    The HR Compliance Manager oversees HR-1’s HR compliance, ensuring alignment with employment laws and HR-1 customer business objectives while minimizing legal risk. This role works with HR-1’s customers and business leaders to address issues promptly.

    Position Summary

    • Policy Review and Implementation: Creating, updating, and enforcing company guidelines to ensure alignment with labor laws and corporate objectives.
    • Staying informed of federal, state, and local employment laws, including minimum wage, pay transparency, time off and other employment requirements.
    • Maintain understanding of current and proposed legislation as well as agency enforcement to recommend policy and procedure updates for ongoing compliance with legal requirements.
    • Directly handle state and federal agency complaints such as wage and hour and civil rights matters.
    • Gather information from HR-1 systems as well as HR-1 customer leadership to draft responses to respective agencies on those complaints. 

    Additional Responsibilities

    • Conduct research on state, local, and federal laws, as directed by Compliance Leadership.
    • Produce and maintain reports and HR-related data for decision-making.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, Law, or a related field.
    • 5 years HR compliance experience particularly with regulatory agencies i.e. Department of Labor, the EEOC, and state unemployment offices
    • Working knowledge of state and federal employment laws
    • Attention to detail and capable working with complexity as well as competing prioritization.
    • Proven track record of policy development and deployment including implementation and compliance auditing.
