DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Work consists of developing, reviewing and complying with standard procedures and tasks where analytic ability is required. Coordinates plant operations utilizing Human Machine Interface (HMI) in conjunction with the Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) system. Monitors and maintains equipment and chemical processes in more than one location. Inspects and tests working conditions on all equipment. Compare readings on equipment and processes with established guidelines that affect process control. Communicates and coordinates work with other operators and support personnel by telephone ad e-mail. Performs other duties as requested.

WORKING CONDITIONS

The position requires lifting heavy items of up to 60 pounds and/or walking on rough surfaces routinely and/or regular physical exertion such as climbing of ladders.

This is a Department of Houston Public Works Emergency Management position at the Tier 1 Level.

Requires a high school diploma or a GED certificate.
