House Manager Position

Location: Scarsdale, NY
Compensation: $30–$35 per hour
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM–12:00 PM
Guaranteed Hours: 25 hours per week

A busy, warm Scarsdale family is seeking a part-time, live-out House Manager to bring structure, organization, and calm to their daily routine. The family has two children, ages 5 and 1, and one dog. Both parents work outside the home most days, and they are looking for a proactive self-starter who can step in, anticipate needs, and keep the household running smoothly without needing to be micromanaged.

Mornings start with helping the family get out the door: preparing lunches, walking the dog, and walking the 5-year-old to the bus stop while the parents handle daycare and school drop-off. The rest of the shift is spent on household organization, laundry, light tidying, grocery runs, meal prep, and errands. On days the children are home, the House Manager will also help with childcare. This role suits someone energetic, flexible, and highly organized who enjoys creating systems and taking ownership of a home. This is a long-term position.

Responsibilities:

• Assist with the family's morning routine, including preparing the children's lunches
• Walk the 5-year-old to the bus stop
• Walk and care for the family dog
• Grocery shopping, organizing the fridge, and prepping food for the week
• Wash, fold, and put away laundry
• Clean dishes, make beds, and tidy the children's rooms and common areas
• Organize key areas of the home, including the pantry, playroom and toys, and linen closet
• Clean the children's bath toys
• Run errands, including dry cleaning and package drop-offs
• Sort through the children's clothing every few months and prepare donation piles
• Pack for the children ahead of family vacations
• Provide childcare on days the children are home from school or daycare
• Pivot flexibly when the day gets busy and priorities shift

Requirements:

• Previous house management, household assistant, or nanny experience
• Strong organizational skills and a self-starter mindset
• Comfortable with dogs
• Valid driver's license and own reliable vehicle (off-street parking provided)
• CPR/First Aid certification
• Vaccinations: COVID-19, Tdap, and Flu
• Energetic, flexible, and comfortable working independently
• Long-term commitment
