Description

Job Summary

We are seeking a full-time, mid-level professional to join our team on-site. Our company specializes in building large-scale custom machinery for the aerospace industry, focusing on ground support equipment and mobile systems. The operator interface serves as the top-level controller for powerful, safety-critical machines. In this role, you will be responsible for the operator-facing software layer, including screens, controls, and workflows that ensure complex machinery is safe and intuitive to operate. You will develop the front-end and HMI software and be involved in commissioning, testing, and debugging against live hardware.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain HMI/machinery front-end applications.
  • Integrate the HMI layer with real-time controls to ensure responsive and deterministic operator-to-machine behavior.
  • Commission, test, and debug software on large machinery on-site, working directly with live hardware through bring-up, integration, and acceptance phases.
  • Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team motivated by the mission and product, taking on various roles as needed.
  • Adhere to a waterfall lifecycle and support AS9115 quality and MIL-STD-882E safety objectives with the necessary documentation.

Qualifications

Must-Haves

  • Experience with real-time controls, including HMI integration in automotive, mobile, or industrial settings.
  • Hands-on experience with machinery testing and debugging on-site with actual hardware.
  • Proficiency in using web technologies for HMI development.
  • Strong proficiency in C# or Java.
  • U.S. citizenship is required for this role.
  • Ability to work full-time on-site, including in shop floor and commissioning environments.

Nice-to-Haves

  • Proficiency in visual design.
  • Experience with ANSI C and RTOS-based embedded development.
  • Exposure to AS9115/AS9100, DO-178C, MIL-STD-882E, or waterfall/traceability-driven V&V.
  • Background in aerospace, defense, or other regulated/safety-critical industries.
  • Ability to travel as needed.
