Health Unit Coordinator

Description:
We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Health Unit Coordinator to support overnight hospital operations. This role is responsible for coordinating administrative and patient-related activities while ensuring accurate registration, verification, and documentation.

• Perform accurate patient registration and demographic verification.
• Verify patient information, insurance, and other required documentation.
• Coordinate and maintain patient records and administrative information.
• Support healthcare staff with unit coordination and clerical tasks.
• Answer phones, respond to inquiries, and route calls appropriately.
• Enter and update information accurately in hospital systems/EHR.
• Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare staff.
• Maintain confidentiality and comply with hospital policies and HIPAA requirements.
• Provide dependable administrative support throughout the overnight shift.

• Previous experience in a healthcare, hospital, medical office, or administrative setting preferred.
• Experience with patient registration, insurance verification, or healthcare documentation is a plus.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to work independently during overnight hours.
• Basic computer and electronic medical record (EHR) skills.
• Ability to work 10:00 PM 6:30 AM, five nights per week.
