Health Information Management Supervisor - Contract

HIM Supervisor Role
100% onsite M-F 8-5PM CST Weekends as needed

Duration: 6+ Months
The Supervisor must have an RHIT or RHIA certification

Key Responsibilities:
-The HIM Supervisor oversees a team of HIM professionals and collaborates with clinical, operational, compliance, and technology stakeholders.
-Lead, coach, and develop HIM staff, supervisors, and team leads.
-Ensure effective staffing, workload distribution, and resource utilization.
-Investigate and resolve potential HIM-related compliance concerns.
-Ensure the accuracy, integrity, confidentiality, and availability of patient health information.
-Monitor compliance with documentation standards and record retention requirements.
- Establish departmental goals, monitor performance metrics, and implement process improvements.

Skills:
-Strong Organizational and Management Skills, Problem-Solving.
-Minimum 2 years of progressive HIM experience.
-Minimum 1 years of leadership or management experience of several employees.
-Working knowledge of HIPAA, Joint Commission standards, CMS regulations, and healthcare documentation practices.
-Proficiency with electronic health record (EHR) systems and HIM technologies
-Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications:
-Bachelor's degree in Health Information Management, Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, or a related field.
-RHIA (Registered Health Information Administrator) certification.
-RHIT (Registered Health Information Technician) certification.
-Experience in a multi-site hospital environment.
-Prior experience with Cerner experience is helpful.
