    Job Summary:

    The Head Girls Wrestling Coach is a vital and supportive member of the PCSD team, working collaboratively with educators, support staff, and administration to achieve the shared goal of ensuring all students receive the education they need to succeed both today and tomorrow. This role is performed within a school environment, overseen by the Athletic Director & School Principal, where teamwork and dedication to student success are paramount.

    All staff are expected to fully adhere to the ethical standards set forth by the Georgia Professional Standards Commission, continuously demonstrating a strong understanding of the tasks and responsibilities their roles require. Moreover, they must embody the core belief that every action we take is driven by a commitment to the best interests of our students.

    Knowledge and Duties:

    • Ability to manage Athletic Budget
    • Ability to manage/lead athletic staff
    • Build teamwork/leadership capacity in student athletes
    • Comply with GHSA rules and regulations
    • Ability to maintain a successful program
    • Provide instruction
    • Assess and encourage student progress
    • Comply with state and district-level regulations and policies
    • Comply with the rules of the Professional Students Commission code of ethics for educators
    • Other duties as assigned by the principal or immediate supervisor

    JOB DESCRIPTION

    Position Title: Classroom Teacher

    Salary Schedule: State Based Plus Local Supplement

    Work Schedule: 190 days/8 hr.

    Grade/Level: N/A

    FLSA: Exempt

    Primary Function: Ability to provide instruction, assessing and encouraging student progress. Ability to manage the learning environment, complying with state and district level regulations and policies.

    Hearing and speaking to exchange information

    Seeing to read a variety of materials

    Bending at the waist, kneeling, or crouching to file materials

    Qualifications:

    A valid Georgia Teaching Certificate in assigned teaching field as required by the Georgia Professional Standards Commission

    The Board of Education and the Superintendent may accept alternatives to some of the above requirements.

    Essential Functions:

    Teach at an appropriate instructional level

    Provide content development

    Assist all students in achieving academic standards and establishing high expectations for performance

    Promote student engagement and provide appropriate assessments

    Monitor student progress

    Respond to adequate and inadequate student performance

    Support students with encouragement

    Use time efficiently

    Maintain effective physical setting for instruction

    Maintain appropriate student behavior in the classroom

    Follow professional practices consistent with school and district policies in working with students, student records, parents, and colleagues

    Ensure adherence to the Code of Ethics for Educators in Georgia, as established by the Georgia Professional Standards Commission

    Integrate the use of technology and multi-media in the classroom

    Possess and maintain valid and appropriate license, certificate and/or credential as may be required for this position

    Follow work scheduling and attendance requirements in a regular, predictable and punctual manner

    Participate in training programs and apply concepts learned in the classroom to increase student learning

    Review current developments, literature and technical source information related to job responsibilities

    Ensure adherence to appropriate safety procedures

    Follow federal and state laws, as well as Board policies

    Perform other duties as assigned by Superintendent or designee
