Position Summary
We are seeking a hands-on Workday HCM Functional Analyst to serve as a functional owner across the HCM portfolio, with particular depth in Core HCM and Workday Security. This person will configure, support, and improve Workday processes across the worker lifecycle, develop reporting and data solutions, and coordinate functional requirements for related integrations. The role requires someone who can independently move work from discovery and solution design through configuration, testing, deployment, training, and production support.
Core HCM and Organizational Foundations
- Configure and maintain worker lifecycle processes including hire, onboarding, job changes, transfers, terminations, rehires, position changes, and organizational changes.
- Maintain supervisory organizations, companies, locations, job profiles, job families, positions, staffing structures, and related configuration.
- Assess effective-dated changes, corrections, rescinds, and reorganizations for downstream impacts on security, reporting, payroll, eligibility, and interfaces.
- Support acquisitions, new entities, reorganizations, and data conversions through requirements, mapping, configuration, validation, cutover, and stabilization.
Recruiting, Talent, Compensation, and Benefits
- Configure and support recruiting processes including requisitions, candidates, interviews, offers, and recruiting-to-hire workflows.
- Support talent and performance processes such as goals, reviews, feedback, talent reviews, and succession activities where deployed.
- Configure and maintain compensation plans, eligibility, grades, profiles, compensation processes, and review cycles.
- Configure and support benefit plans, eligibility, enrollment events, coverage changes, rates, open enrollment, life events, and exception handling.
Security, Reporting, and Data
- Administer Workday security groups, role assignments, domain permissions, and business process security using least-privilege principles.
- Troubleshoot access, routing, organizationally scoped security, report security, custom objects, and integration security.
- Build advanced operational reports, calculated fields, dashboards, audit reports, and exception reporting.
- Prepare and execute controlled EIB and supported data loads, validating templates, identifiers, effective dates, control totals, errors, and post-load results.
Integrations, Support, and Change Delivery
- Own functional requirements, field definitions, mappings, reconciliation, and acceptance testing for HCM-related integrations.
- Diagnose configuration, data, security, integration, process, and user-knowledge issues and drive cases through verified resolution.
- Lead requirements discussions, evaluate design options, document solutions, coordinate testing, and support controlled deployments.
- Partner with internal technical resources and external specialists for advanced integration or development needs while retaining functional ownership.
- Lead user training, demonstrations, workshops, and creation of practical job aids and process documentation.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Information Systems, Business, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of relevant education and practical experience.
- At least five years of relevant HRIS or enterprise application experience, including at least three years of hands-on Workday configuration and production support with independent delivery responsibility.
- Strong hands-on Core HCM and Workday Security experience, including business processes, condition rules, security groups, domain and business process security, and organizationally scoped access.
- Hands-on configuration experience in at least two of the following: Recruiting, Talent and Performance, Compensation, or Benefits.
- Ability to build advanced Workday reports and calculated fields, execute controlled EIB loads, troubleshoot integration data issues, and validate end-to-end outcomes.
- Experience leading requirements discussions, regression testing, user acceptance testing, and controlled deployments.
- Strong communication, problem-solving, prioritization, confidentiality, and follow-through skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Workday Pro credentials or relevant Workday training in HCM, Security, or related specialty modules.
- Experience supporting a multi-entity or distributed enterprise environment, including acquisitions or reorganizations.
- Experience with compensation and benefits annual cycles, access governance, audit evidence, and vendor management.
