Help stabilize the grid—one megawatt at a time
Mission: accelerate the energy transition by keeping utility-scale battery systems safe, reliable, and ready. As our Grid-Scale BESS O&M Technician, you’ll be the on-site expert who turns engineering intent into real-world performance.
Could this be you?
- You’ve brought complex electrical systems to life—commissioning, testing, and optimizing.
- You navigate three-phase power, DC buses, and control loops with confidence.
- You thrive in the field—tool bag in hand, laptop connected, data at your fingertips.
Impact you’ll make
- Own installation, commissioning, inspection, troubleshooting, and maintenance for BESS assets—batteries, inverters, transformers, EMS, and balance-of-system equipment.
- Interpret single-line diagrams, schematics, and OEM manuals to solve electrical, mechanical, and controls problems.
- Execute preventive/corrective maintenance; document precisely with reports, logs, and incident records.
- Track performance via SCADA/monitoring platforms; respond to alarms, faults, and outages to protect uptime.
- Lead or assist on upgrades, retrofits, and warranty tasks; partner with engineering, operations, and vendors.
- Travel to multiple sites and support on-call or emergency rotations.
What you’ll need to succeed
- High school diploma or GED (technical or trade school training preferred).
- 2+ years’ experience in electrical, power generation, renewables, or energy storage.
- Strong fundamentals in DC systems, three-phase AC, and control circuits; skilled at reading single-line diagrams and detailed schematics.
- Demonstrated high-voltage safety practices aligned with OSHA and NFPA 70E.
- Hands-on with meters, insulation testers, and laptop interfaces for commissioning/diagnostics.
- Background with BESS, solar PV, or wind; familiar with lithium-ion battery technology and thermal management.
- Experience using SCADA and data tools to analyze trends and inform maintenance.
- Certifications such as NFPA 70E, OSHA 10/30, or similar.
- Sungrow PT1, PT2 experience.
Physical & work requirements
