Description

The Graphic Designer works as an integral part of the Design Team whose responsibilities include creating print and digital graphics for a variety of communication materials including but not limited to ads, brochures, direct mail, displays, editorial materials, exhibits, flyers, invitations, presentation materials, posters, as well as graphics for e-mail communications, web, and social media channels. The Graphic Designer works under the direction of the Creative Director to create high-quality, effective and cost-efficient designs that can be produced on time and within budget. They maintain records of each job passing through the art department and provide updates to the Creative Director on a weekly basis. 

As part of an interdepartmental team, the Graphic Designer functions as a creative problem solver who helps Marketing and Communications, Fundraising and other teams to develop communications that meet marketing objectives within the agreed-upon strategy. They manage progress of individual assignments closely with respective project managers.

The Graphic Designer performs other tasks assigned by the Creative Director. 

Responsibilities

  • Conceptualize, develop, and design print and digital graphics to support fundraising efforts and planning department needs including pieces mentioned above. Work with purchasing department to secure bids.
  • Function as a creative problem solver helping the brand marketing and communications teams, fundraising, and other members of the organization develop products that meet marketing objectives within the agreed-upon strategy.
  • Create print and digital graphics that support larger M&C strategies including internal UJA communications, brand awareness campaigns, ads for Jewish publications, audience engagement efforts, etc.

Qualifications

  • Excellent publication design skills and expert knowledge of current version of the Adobe Creative Suite (Mac).
  • Keeps up with current design trends and techniques.
  • Minimum 3-5 years staff experience in a leading advertising agency or in-house design studio.
  • Art degree from a recognized and accredited university or design school.
  • Experience working within and adhering to established brand guidelines.
  • Demonstrated ability to consistently produce a high volume of quality work under pressure and meet tight deadlines with diverse clients, managing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Superior taste in overall design, typography, color and paper stock. Thorough knowledge of all aspects of offset and digital pre-press and print production technology.
  • Ability to prepare print ready files and specifications for output.
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, with a positive and collaborative attitude.
  • Understanding and interest in UJA-Federation's mission.

Reports To: Director, Creative Strategy

Salary Range: $75,000 - $85,000, commensurate with experience and qualifications listed above.
