This is a grant funded position. Continuation of this grant-funded position is contingent upon the continued availability of grant funds. There is no right or expectancy of continued employment beyond the terms of the employment agreement.

This is a CONTINUOUS recruitment for an applicant POOL to fill PART-TIME assignments on an as-needed basis. Departments or Divisions will refer to the POOL of applications on file to fill temporary assignments as the need arises. You will be contacted by the hiring manager should the department/division be interested in scheduling an interview. Position Summary Information

Job Description Summary

The purpose of this position is to provide clerical or direct support to the staff, instructors, and students. The Office Assistant is critical in carrying out all clerical duties of the TRUE grant funded program.

Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma or GED equivalency.

Six (6) months office/clerical related experience.

Required Job Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

Proficiency with MS Office applications including Word, Excel, and Outlook.

Detail-oriented with a high degree of accuracy maintaining records.

Excellent organizational skills.

Excellent customer service skills and ability to communicate courteously and effectively with students, faculty, staff and public.

Strong verbal, written and telephone communication skills.

Ability to work with minimal supervision to handle multiple tasks, prioritize tasks, and maintain confidentiality.

Ability to work professionally with non-traditional and diverse populations.

Preferred Qualifications

Associate's degree.

Higher education experience.

Experience with Datatel and WebDMC.

Provides clerical support duties to meet the requirements of the grant to include ordering, creating, and pursuing the purchase of all grant supplies and equipment.

Work collaboratively and professionally college wide and within the Adult Education department to meet the requirements of the grant.

Job Duty

All other clerical supportive duties including answering phones, greeting students, and supporting the department.

Job Duty

Assist students in completing basic grant applications and Del Mar College forms.
