CONTINUED EMPLOYMENT IN GRANT-FUNDED POSITIONS IS CONTINGENT UPON AVAILABILITY OF FUNDS.

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: A Bachelor's degree is required. A valid Texas teaching and school administration certificate is preferred. Three (3) years of successful teaching experience. It's strongly preferred that the incumbent demonstrates written and verbal communication skills in English and Spanish. SKILL REQUIREMENTS: This position requires effective communication and presentation skills, along with excellent written and oral communication skills. Incumbent must have excellent organization skills, and an interest in working with diverse populations within the identified campus community. Incumbent must have knowledge of the Austin community, particularly the campus corridor in Austin. Incumbent must have thorough knowledge of Austin ISD policies and academic requirements, district and campus organization structures, and available campus and community resources. Knowledge of student data systems and the ability to collect, organize, and analyze student and community data is essential. JOB PURPOSE AND RESPONSIBILITY: This position is responsible for assisting the Principal in establishing positive engagement of parents, community, and business in supporting the exploratory planning process as outlined in the TEA 2019-20 School Action grant. This position will promote and lead a coordinated approach matching school and community resources to support identified academic, social, emotional, and physical needs of students. The School Improvement Facilitator will prioritize strong partnerships and shared leadership among school staff, families, students, teachers, and community organizations. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

    Engage

    students,

    families,

    and

    community

    members

    in

    the

    exploratory

    planning

    process

    to

    identify

    the

    "best

    fit"

    school action that will improve academic outcomes for all student populations.

    Facilitate

    an

    annual

    needs

    and

    asset

    assessment

    that

    includes

    partner

    mapping

    to

    evaluate

    effectiveness

    and

    capacity

    of resources to meet student, school, and community needs.

    Collaborate

    with

    campus

    leadership

    to

    incorporate

    school

    improvement

    strategies

    into

    the

    Campus

    Improvement

    Plan (CIP).

    Work

    with

    campus

    staff,

    families,

    and

    community

    partners

    to

    create

    a

    welcoming

    and

    positive

    school

    climate

    for

    parents, teachers, staff, and community members.

    Build

    partnerships

    with

    community

    volunteers

    to

    support

    campus

    mentoring

    and

    tutoring

    programs.

    Educate

    teachers

    and

    staff

    in

    the

    local

    school

    community.

    Participate

    in

    the

    Campus

    Advisory

    Council.

    Work

    with

    campus

    administrators,

    teachers,

    and

    campus

    support

    service

    staff

    to

    set

    protocols

    and

    connect

    different

    areas of expertise for the purpose of academic and service referrals and school improvement.

    Become

    familiar

    with

    the

    Child

    Study

    Team

    (CST)

    process

    and

    other

    campus

    systems

    that

    provide

    support

    and interventions for students and families.

    Work

    to

    obtain

    funding

    and

    resources

    that

    sustain

    campus

    programs

    support

    through

    grant

    writing

    and

    other

    means.

    Participate

    in

    local,

    national,

    state,

    and

    regional

    conferences,

    workshops,

    meetings,

    etc.

    consistent

    with

    the

    district's

    goals and objectives and as needed.

    Develop

    a

    program

    compliance

    calendar,

    template,

    and

    other

    record

    keeping

    and

    data

    collection

    systems

    in

    partnership with the School Improvement Facilitator to ensure grant compliance.

    Assist

    the

    Project

    Coordinator

    with

    the

    management

    of

    purchase

    and

    maintenance

    of

    grant-funded

    items

    contracts,

    and travel expenses.

    Generate

    records

    to

    document

    the

    progress

    of

    individual

    partnering

    projects.

    Provide

    an

    exceptional

    customer

    experience

    for

    all

    AISD

    stakeholders

    with

    intentional

    and

    professional practices

    that promote a culture of respect. OTHER DUTIES AS ASSIGNED: Perform other related duties as assigned; however, all employees are expected to comply with lawful directives in rare situations driven by need where a team effort is required. PHYSICAL EFFORT AND WORK ENVIRONMENT: This position involves working in a normal office setting with no unusual physical demands or exposure to hazardous situations. Some movement is generally necessary (e.g., standing, walking, stooping, bending, sitting, and/or kneeling). This position may require travel to other campuses, community partner facilities, and/or home visits. Computer use is required, and prolonged use may result in repetitive hand motion. This position may involve rare exposure to blood or body fluids. Regular attendance is required for this position. PERSONAL WORK RELATIONSHIPS: This position reports directly to the campus Principal. Incumbent will have frequent contact with students, teachers, parents, community members, and other Austin ISD staff.
