Job Description:
Hotel Equities, a multi-award-winning hotel development and hospitality management company, is seeking a dynamic, results-oriented General Manager to lead the Guesthouse Hotel at LaValle.
This is a unique full-service hospitality leadership opportunity within a wellness-oriented property that includes golf, racket sports, spa, pool, and fitness amenities.
The General Manager will lead the hotel operation and its team of approximately 16-20 associates across front office, housekeeping, laundry, maintenance, and sales.
While the club manages the wellness and recreational amenities, the hotel General Manager will be accountable for delivering a cohesive guest experience and effectively partnering with the broader club management team.
Job Purpose
The General Manager provides overall leadership, direction, accountability, and operational oversight for the hotel. This role is responsible for hotel operations, financial performance, commercial strategy, associate leadership, guest experience, and owner relationships. The General Manager must be highly self-directed and comfortable operating in a collaborative environment involving hotel leadership, ownership, the club management team, employees, members, and shared support resources.
What You'll Do
- Provide strategic and hands-on leadership for hotel operations, ensuring an exceptional guest experience and operational excellence.
- Lead and develop a team of approximately 16 associates across front office, housekeeping, laundry, maintenance, and sales.
- Drive financial performance, including revenue, profitability, labor, expense management, and market-share objectives.
- Take an active role in commercial strategy and revenue generation, working independently and in partnership with the Sales Manager and shared Revenue Director.
- Identify and pursue opportunities to strengthen hotel revenue, business performance, and market position.
- Oversee hotel financial performance and use operating reports, trends, and business intelligence to make informed decisions and take timely action.
- Build strong relationships with ownership and serve as a visible, credible business partner on property.
- Partner closely with the broader club management team to ensure alignment between hotel operations, club operations, employees, members, and the overall guest experience.
- Lead with an understanding of the property's wellness-oriented positioning, ensuring the hotel experience complements amenities including golf, racket sports, spa, pool, and fitness.
- Set clear expectations and hold leaders and associates accountable for performance, productivity, service, and company standards.
- Coach, develop, recognize, and retain associates while supporting recruitment, onboarding, performance management, and succession planning.
- Respond effectively to guest concerns and foster a consistent service-recovery culture.
- Ensure compliance with Hotel Equities standards, brand requirements, company policies, and applicable operational requirements.
- Manage staffing, schedules, supplies, and departmental resources to support operational and financial objectives.
- Communicate effectively with hotel leadership, ownership, club leadership, associates, members, and shared support teams.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Previous General Manager or significant hotel leadership experience in a full-service hospitality environment.
- Demonstrated experience leading hotel operations with responsibility for financial performance and business results.
- Strong commercial mindset with the ability to identify and direct revenue-generating opportunities.
- Experience partnering with Sales and Revenue leadership to drive hotel performance.
- Experience working directly with ownership or senior stakeholders and communicating business performance effectively.
- Ability to operate independently, exercise sound judgment, and take ownership of decisions and results.
- Strong leadership, communication, organizational, financial, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to lead in a complex, collaborative environment involving multiple operating partners and stakeholders.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as needed.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; bachelor's degree preferred.

Physical Requirements
This position requires the ability to:
- Stand, walk, bend, reach, and move throughout the hotel as needed.

- Occasionally lift or carry supplies and equipment up to 25 pounds.
- Travel throughout the property and occasionally off-site for meetings and business needs.
