Position Summary
The General Manager is responsible for the overall leadership, operational performance, financial results, and strategic direction of a full-service airport Hilton hotel.
The successful candidate will be a highly visible, hands-on leader with demonstrated experience operating a complex, high-volume hotel environment. This individual will drive revenue and profitability, maintain Hilton brand standards, deliver exceptional guest satisfaction, and build a strong, accountable leadership team.
The General Manager must understand the unique demands of an airport hotel, including 24-hour operations, airline crew and distressed-passenger business, airport transportation, fluctuating arrival and departure patterns, group and corporate demand, and maximizing short-booking-window revenue opportunities.
Key Responsibilities:
Hotel Operations
- Provide direct leadership and oversight of all hotel departments, including Rooms, Food & Beverage, Sales, Revenue Management, Finance, Human Resources, Engineering, Security, and airport transportation.
- Maintain a highly visible presence throughout the hotel and actively engage with guests, employees, airline partners, corporate accounts, and Hilton representatives.
- Ensure consistent execution of Hilton brand standards, quality assurance requirements, operating procedures, and guest-service expectations.
- Maintain operational readiness 24 hours a day, with particular attention to late-night arrivals, early departures, flight disruptions, airline crews, and high-volume demand periods.
- Ensure airport shuttle operations are reliable, safe, efficient, and appropriately staffed.
- Champion a culture of urgency, accountability, service excellence, and measurable performance.
- Maintain compliance with Hilton brand standards, operating procedures, and quality
- assurance requirements.
Financial & Revenue Leadership
- Maintain full responsibility for the hotel’s P&L, annual budget, forecasting, cash flow, and operating performance.
- Drive RevPAR, ADR, occupancy, GOP, and EBITDA, with an emphasis on outperforming the hotel’s competitive set.
- Work closely with Sales and Revenue Management to optimize pricing and inventory based on airport traffic, compression periods, flight disruptions, citywide events, and short-term booking patterns.
- Aggressively develop and maintain airline crew contracts, distressed-passenger relationships, corporate negotiated accounts, group business, and airport-related demand generators.
- Identify opportunities to increase ancillary revenue through Food & Beverage, parking, meetings, transportation partnerships, and other hotel services.
- Maintain disciplined labor management, purchasing controls, productivity standards, and expense management without sacrificing guest experience or asset quality.
Sales & Market Leadership
- Serve as an active leader in the hotel’s sales strategy rather than relying solely on the sales department.
- Develop strong relationships with airlines, airport organizations, major employers, travel managers, meeting planners, and other local demand generators.
- Understand the airport competitive set and continually identify opportunities to capture market share.
- Hold the commercial team accountable for measurable production and revenue results.
