General Maintenance Technician – 1st Shift

Location: Macomb, MI

Schedule: Monday-Friday, 6:00 AM-4:30 PM, with overtime as needed

Pay:$23 per hour

Job Type: Full-time, direct hire

A growing machining manufacturer in Macomb is looking for a mechanically inclined General Maintenance Technician to support facility upkeep, preventive maintenance, and day-to-day plant operations.

This is a hands-on position for someone who enjoys variety and is comfortable handling basic repairs, preventive maintenance, equipment inspections, and general plant support. Previous CNC or machining experience would be helpful but is not required.

Responsibilities

• Perform general facility maintenance and basic repairs

• Complete preventive maintenance and inspections on forklifts, floor scrubbers, conveyors, and other plant equipment

• Assist with basic plumbing, electrical, heating, cooling, and building maintenance issues

• Help troubleshoot equipment concerns and complete repairs within your experience level

• Serve as a backup for coolant maintenance and monitoring

• Maintain clean and organized production, storage, and exterior areas

• Monitor maintenance and cleaning supplies

• Coordinate with outside vendors when needed

• Support recycling, environmental, and facility documentation

• Assist Shipping and Receiving when needed

• Follow safety, lockout/tagout, housekeeping, and environmental procedures

Qualifications

• At least two years of general maintenance, facility maintenance, manufacturing, or related hands-on experience preferred

• Strong mechanical aptitude and basic troubleshooting skills

• Comfortable using hand tools, power tools, and basic shop equipment

• Able to work independently and manage multiple responsibilities

• Forklift or man-lift experience preferred

• Previous experience in a manufacturing or machining environment preferred

• Exposure to CNC machines, production equipment, coolant systems, or preventive maintenance is helpful but not required

• Willing to assist wherever needed and work overtime when scheduled
