General Maintenance Mechanic

Performs a wide variety of general maintenance activities, skilled and semi-skilled work on buildings, and mechanical/electrical/refrigeration/air conditioning/ventilation equipment systems. Repairs, maintains, and installs plumbing fixtures and equipment, including water pipes, faucets, valves, joints, traps, and sewer systems. Performs minor plastering/cement/concrete work, asphalt pavement patching, and interior/exterior painting. Manages the upkeep of tools, equipment, and machinery; may be required to enter confined spaces. Work is performed under the supervision of a Manager or Facility Supervisor and is reviewed through inspections of work in progress and completed projects.

QUALIFICATIONS

This position requires qualified applicants to possess the following:

• Graduation from high school or an equivalent recognized certification; minimum of four (4) years of experience in building/facilities maintenance, repair, or construction at the semiskilled level.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Preferred qualifications include (must specify on application):

• Proficient in using a computer,
• Knowledgeable in Microsoft Suite,
• Knowledgeable in Advantage,
• Experience with water and/or wastewater distribution systems, supplies, or materials, and
• Experience working in a warehouse environment.
