General Lab Supervisor / Laboratory Supervisor in Indianapolis, IN

We have an excellent opportunity for an experienced General Laboratory Supervisor / Medical Technologist Supervisor to join an established hospital laboratory in Indianapolis, Indiana.

This position is ideal for an experienced Medical Technologist or Medical Laboratory Scientist with strong generalist and blood bank experience who is ready to take the next step in laboratory leadership.

Position Details

• Location: Indianapolis, IN

• Employment Type: Full-Time, Permanent

• Shift: Monday–Friday, 1:00 PM–9:30 PM

• Weekends: None

• On-Call: None

• Start Date: ASAP

Responsibilities

• Supervise daily laboratory operations and support laboratory staff.

• Oversee testing and workflow across Chemistry, Hematology, Coagulation, Urinalysis, and Blood Bank.

• Maintain quality standards, accurate testing, and efficient laboratory operations.

• Provide technical guidance, troubleshooting, and leadership to laboratory personnel.

• Support high-complexity testing and ensure compliance with laboratory procedures.

• Collaborate with laboratory leadership to maintain a productive, team-oriented environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology, Clinical Laboratory Science, Biology, Chemistry, or a related science.

• MT(ASCP), MLS(ASCP), or equivalent certification required.

• Minimum 4 years of relevant high-complexity laboratory experience.

• Previous supervisory, Lead Technologist, Coordinator, or progressive leadership experience required.

• Strong generalist laboratory experience, including:

  • Blood Bank, including antibody identification

  • Automated and manual Hematology, including abnormal differentials

  • Automated Chemistry

  • Urinalysis and Coagulation

  • Manual kit testing

• Strong communication, problem-solving, and team leadership skills.

Preferred Experience

• Beckman laboratory instrumentation

• EPIC Beaker and Softbank laboratory systems

• Experience supporting hospital-based laboratory operations
