The General Counsel partners closely with executive leadership, franchising, operations, development, HR, and finance teams to manage legal strategy, contracts, compliance, risk mitigation, and dispute resolution. In a fast-growing franchise environment, this position requires a hands-on approach — balancing legal expertise with operational practicality to enable efficient decision-making and scalable growth.

This role will oversee franchise legal matters, real estate and construction agreements, vendor and procurement contracts, employment-related legal issues, intellectual property protection, and regulatory compliance while helping establish strong legal processes and governance standards across the organization.

  • Develop, maintain, and enforce contract standards, templates, and approval workflows to create consistency, efficiency, and scalability as the organization grows.
  • Provide practical negotiation support to business leaders, balancing risk mitigation with speed of execution to enable operational progress and deal closure.
  • Identify contractual risk exposure and proactively recommend alternative structures, protections, or negotiation strategies to safeguard company interests.

4.      Real Estate & Development Support

  • Review and negotiate leases, purchase agreements, and development-related contracts.
  • Support Park development initiatives by advising on permitting, construction, and vendor risk.
  • Collaborate with Project Management and Finance on contractual protections.

5.      Risk Management & Compliance

  • Identify legal risks and develop mitigation strategies across operations.
  • Partner with HR on employment law matters including investigations, policies, and employee relations issues.
  • Support safety, liability, and insurance matters in coordination with Risk and Operations teams.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable federal, state, and local regulations.

6.      Litigation & Dispute Management

  • Manage pre-litigation matters and oversee outside counsel relationships.
  • Coordinate responses to potential litigation, discovery, mediation, claims, disputes, and regulatory inquiries related to any corporate incidents and Risk Management.
  • Develop strategies to minimize litigation exposure and associated costs related to corporate incidents.

  • Develop and maintain company legal policies and compliance frameworks.
  • Provide legal training and guidance to leadership and internal teams.
  • Implement scalable legal processes to support organizational growth.
