Garage Door Service Technician - Commercial & Residential

ProLift Garage Doors of Sugar Land is looking for an experienced Garage Door Service Technician to join our growing team.
This is not an entry-level position. We are specifically looking for a technician with several years of garage door experience, including commercial garage door repair and service.
If you know how to diagnose problems, make repairs correctly, communicate with customers, and take pride in the work you leave behind, we want to talk to you.

Our compensation structure is designed for technicians who want to earn more by producing more, without having to absorb the cost of parts, fuel, or tolls.
What You'll Do
You will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, replacing, installing, and maintaining residential and commercial garage doors and related equipment.
Your day may include:
- Diagnosing and repairing commercial and residential garage doors
- Repairing and replacing springs, cables, rollers, drums, hinges, tracks, and other components
- Installing and servicing garage door openers and gate operators
- Performing commercial door and opener repairs
- Identifying additional problems and recommending appropriate repairs or upgrades
- Communicating clearly with homeowners, property managers, and commercial customers
- Providing professional estimates and explaining repair options
- Collecting payment for completed work
- Maintaining your service vehicle, tools, and inventory
- Following safety procedures, manufacturer specifications, and applicable codes
What We're Looking For
Required:
- 3+ years of professional garage door service experience
- 2+ years of commercial garage door experience
- Ability to independently diagnose and repair garage door systems
- Experience with both residential and commercial doors and openers
- Valid driver's license and a safe driving record
- Strong mechanical and troubleshooting skills
- Ability to work independently in the field
- Professional communication and customer-service skills

You have to be someone customers trust.
We don't want a technician who simply knows how to fix a garage door. We want someone who can walk into a customer's home or business, diagnose the problem, explain what is happening in plain English, present the available options, and make the customer feel confident that they are in good hands.
You should be comfortable recommending repairs when they are genuinely needed and asking for the business when you've earned the customer's trust.

Our Hiring Process

Compensation: $60,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
