About the role:
The Technology and Sustainability Communications Manager plays a key role in shaping how SLB communicates two of its most important differentiators: our technology and how it enables more sustainable outcomes.
This role focuses on helping employees and external stakeholders better understand the technologies SLB develops and deploys, why they matter and the impact they deliver across the energy system. Sustainability is a natural extension of this work, as our technologies are central to how we reduce emissions, improve efficiency, and support our customers' transition goals.
You'll partner closely with Technology leadership, Sustainability teams and global communications colleagues to translate complex technical concepts into clear, relevant and engaging stories.
The role requires strong storytelling skills and the ability to connect innovation and sustainability to SLB's broader strategy, customer value, and real-world impact.
Key responsibilities
Strategy & planning
Develop and execute communications strategies for SLB's Technology function and Sustainability priorities, aligned with business goals and corporate narrative
Support major technology launches, innovation campaigns and sustainability initiatives
Partner with global communications teams to build and maintain an integrated editorial calendar
Content & storytelling
Create clear, engaging content that simplifies complex technologies in plain language
Translate technical capabilities into stories that highlight customer value, performance and sustainability impact
Develop innovation and sustainability narratives that position SLB as a technology leader driving measurable outcomes
Campaigns & channels
Plan and execute multi-channel campaigns across internal and external platforms
Continuously improve communication channels (intranet, email, digital signage, webcasts, social) to increase reach and engagement
Ensure messaging is consistent, on-brand and aligned with SLB's corporate narrative
Measurement & impact
Track and analyze communication effectiveness (open rates, engagement, click-through rates and other key metrics)
Use insights to refine content, improve performance and inform future campaigns
Collaboration & alignment
Partner with Executive, Internal, External, Brand, Division and Regional Communications teams to deliver integrated campaigns
Work closely with Technology and Sustainability leaders and subject matter experts to ensure accurate, timely and impactful messaging
Ensure alignment with SLB brand standards and corporate messaging
5+ years of experience in communications, content development, or a related field
Strong writing, editing and storytelling skills, with the ability to simplify complex technical content
Experience developing and executing communications strategies in a global, matrixed organization
Ability to connect technology and sustainability topics to broader business and industry narratives
Experience managing multi-channel campaigns and editorial planning
Comfort working with data and communication metrics to drive improvement
Strong collaboration skills and ability to influence stakeholders at all levels
Fluency in English required
