Position Overview
We are seeking a Full Stack QA & Development Engineer to help design, build, and maintain reliable, scalable software applications. This role combines hands-on software development with strong quality assurance expertise and is ideal for an engineer who is passionate about maintaining high code quality, building robust testing frameworks, and collaborating closely with development teams.
The ideal candidate will have experience across both front-end and back-end development, along with the ability to design and implement comprehensive testing strategies that ensure system stability and performance. This role requires a technically strong engineer who can contribute to application development while championing automated testing, code review practices, and continuous improvement across the engineering lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
Full Stack Development
* Develop and maintain user interfaces using modern front-end frameworks such as React and Next.js.
* Build and maintain server-side logic, APIs, and backend services with an emphasis on clean architecture, security, and scalability.
* Contribute to the design and development of reliable full-stack applications across front-end and back-end systems.
Quality Assurance & Testing
* Design and implement automated testing strategies across UI, API, integration, and performance layers.
* Develop and maintain automated test suites to ensure consistent software reliability and maintainability.
* Define and refine QA strategies that support modern development workflows, including environments that incorporate AI-assisted code generation.
Code Quality & Engineering Practices
* Conduct thorough code reviews for team members and AI-generated code to ensure high quality standards.
* Identify and address defects, track issues, and follow through on resolution.
* Analyze test results and produce reports to support development improvements and system reliability.
Collaboration & Continuous Improvement
* Work closely with cross-functional teams including product, UX/UI, engineering, and DevOps to deliver high-impact features.
* Troubleshoot production issues and support ongoing system improvements.
* Promote best practices in software development, testing, and deployment.
Required Qualifications
* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field (or equivalent experience).
* 5+ years of professional experience in full-stack development roles with demonstrated QA or testing experience.
* Experience developing backend systems using Python and frameworks such as FastAPI.
* Strong experience designing and implementing automated test frameworks, including API, integration, and UI testing.
* Experience working with AWS services and cloud-based application deployments.
* Proficiency with Git, version control systems, and CI/CD pipelines.
* Strong knowledge of code review practices, QA methodologies, and software development best practices.
Preferred Qualifications
* Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
* 7+ years of professional experience in full-stack engineering roles with QA/testing responsibilities.
* Experience working in Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) or hybrid development/QA roles.
* Familiarity with performance testing, security testing, and load testing tools.
* Experience integrating testing frameworks within Agile development environments.
* Experience working with SQL and NoSQL databases (PostgreSQL preferred).
Compensation depends on experience but is typically $45-50/hr.
