Quality Engineer â Aerospace Manufacturing
Location: Commerce, CA
Schedule: Full-Time | On-Site
Salary: $120,000 â $140,000 annually

Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Quality Engineer to join an established aerospace manufacturing organization in Commerce, CA. This position will have broad responsibility across manufacturing quality, quality systems, corrective action, auditing, continuous improvement, and supplier quality. The ideal candidate has hands-on aerospace manufacturing experience and is comfortable working directly with Engineering, Manufacturing, Operations, Supply Chain, suppliers, and customers to resolve quality issues and improve product and process performance.
Key Responsibilities
Support compliance with AS9100, ISO 9001, NADCAP, customer, regulatory, and internal quality requirements.
Review engineering drawings, specifications, procedures, and changes to ensure quality and inspection requirements are properly implemented.
Drive MRB activities and disposition nonconforming material in collaboration with Engineering and Operations.
Investigate product nonconformances, customer complaints, and rejected material; lead containment, root cause analysis, and corrective action (RCCA).
Support First Article Inspection (FAI) activities and inspection planning.
Utilize quality tools and metrics including PPAP, SPC, Gage R&R, and process capability analysis.
Participate in continuous improvement, scrap reduction, and cost-of-poor-quality initiatives.
Lead and support AS9100/ISO 9001, NADCAP, customer, internal, supplier, and third-party audits.
Coordinate customer and vendor returns through resolution.
Support customer and third-party source inspections.
Partner cross-functionally with Engineering, Manufacturing, Operations, Supply Chain, and Quality to improve product and process performance.
Develop and improve suppliers through performance monitoring, corrective actions, training, and process improvement.
Conduct supplier audits and onsite supplier visits to evaluate and improve supplier processes and quality systems.
These responsibilities reflect the revised position's combination of manufacturing/product quality, auditing and supplier quality.
Qualifications
3+ years of Quality Engineering, Quality Assurance, or related experience within aerospace manufacturing.
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, or a related technical discipline preferred.
Working knowledge of AS9100 and ISO 9001 quality systems.
Experience with RCCA, 8D, 5 Why, CAPA, or similar structured problem-solving methodologies.
Experience supporting MRB and nonconforming material.
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and GD&T.
Familiarity with SPC and process capability analysis.
Aerospace manufacturing and hands-on production quality experience strongly preferred.
Supplier quality, supplier auditing, or supplier development experience highly desirable.
Strong analytical, organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and ERP/MRP systems.
Ideal Candidate
We are looking for a hands-on Quality Engineer who enjoys solving problems on the manufacturing floor and working cross-functionally to improve quality. This is not exclusively a Supplier Quality position. The successful candidate will have a strong foundation in manufacturing/product quality while also being comfortable working directly with suppliers, customers, and auditors.
This role is well suited for candidates currently working as a Quality Engineer, Senior Quality Engineer, Manufacturing Quality Engineer, Aerospace Quality Engineer, Supplier Quality Engineer, or Quality Assurance Engineer who want broader ownership across the quality function.
