MAINTENANCE TECHNICIANDEPARTMENT: Management Services DIVISION: Fleet & FacilitiesPAY: GRADE 125: $48,959.85 - $70,991.78 Annual Salary (Hourly Rate $23.54 - $34.13FLSA STATUS: Non-Exempt, Full-Time, Eligible for Benefits GENERAL PURPOSEThis position assists in performing semi-skilled and unskilled labor in the construction, maintenance, and related service activities related to Facilities maintenance. Receives direct supervision from the Crew Leader- Facility.ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONSOperate construction and maintenance equipment and power tools. Scissor lifts, forklifts, compressors, generators, chemical sprayers, paint sprayers, etc.Maintain hand tools and assigned equipment; perform preventive maintenance on equipment.Utilize proper safety precautions related to all work performed.Respond to customer inquiries in a courteous manner and provide information within the area of assignment.Document all tasks and projects within the Facilities work order system.Coordinate maintenance and construction activities with outside contractors and other city departments.Resolve complaints in an efficient and timely manner.Perform snow removal and ice control duties as required around facilities.Respond to and resolve difficult and sensitive customers' inquiries and complaints.Available for rotating On Call schedule as assigned and/or during other emergency conditions.Be available and physically/mentally capable of working up to 12 hours at a time.Participate in safety and risk management activities; take action to reduce liability to the city.Attendance and punctuality are essential functions of this position.
