Primary Purpose:
Assist in the preparation and serving of meals for school children, maintaining a clean and safe
kitchen environment in compliance with National Child Nutrition Program policies.
Major Responsibilities and Duties:
- Assist in the preparation of food items, including washing, cutting, and assembling ingredients.
- Serve food to students and staff in a courteous and efficient manner.
- Clean and sanitize kitchen equipment, utensils, and work areas according to health and safety guidelines.
- Follow HACCP procedures and help maintain accurate food production and service records.
- Assist in inventory management, including receiving, storing, and rotating supplies.
- Support kitchen staff in maintaining a safe and orderly work environment.
- Perform other duties as required by the Cafeteria Cook or Child Nutrition Supervisor.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Experience in food service preferred.
- Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team.
