Job Responsibilities

The Food Runner responsibilities include expediting the food serving process by running food orders that are submitted through the POS system, assisting the wait staff as needed, as well as expediting the kitchen line on occasions.

Essential Functions/Requirements:

Delivers food orders to guests dining in a full-service restaurant.
Presents proper food items by seat position according to the ticket.
Carries an oval tray in a traditional style restaurant containing hot and cold food items.
Expedites kitchen line in the absence of the Expo.
Provides excellent service to guests.
Maintains restaurant service standards.
Ensures a smooth and efficient operation.
Communicates with each part of the kitchen to ensure the tickets are being filled correctly.
Ensures the quality and accuracy of every order is fulfilled.
Performs other tasks as assigned.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills required
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail required
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Ability to multitask

Knowledge/Work Experience:

Must be at least 18 years old and have the ability to obtain the appropriate license pursuant to the applicable statute, rules and regulations.
High school diploma or G.E.D preferred
Some experience in hospitality or customer service preferred
Must obtain a Tips Certification.

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret documents, such as policy and procedure manuals and other related documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries from other Team Members or guests. Fluency in English required. Ability to write detailed instructions and correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations.

Mathematical Skills & Reasoning Ability:

Ability to compute basic mathematical calculations. Ability to decipher various reports and maintain reports upon request with strong decision-making and problem-solving skills.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Essential responsibilities include moderate physical ability such as lift or maneuver at least fifteen (15) pounds, and prolonged standing during the shift.

The noise level in the work environment varies. When on the casino floor, the noise level increases to loud. When on the casino floor or other designated areas may be subjected to tobacco smoke. Must be able to handle intoxicated guests in a professional manner.
