FOH Manager

Full Time | Leadership Role | Weekends & Holidays Required

Old Europe, a long standing European caf and bakery in downtown Asheville, is seeking a Front of House Manager to lead our FOH team, maintain smooth daily operations, and uphold the warm, supportive culture our caf is known for.

This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast paced hospitality environment, enjoys supporting a team, and is comfortable stepping in wherever needed to keep the caf running seamlessly.

About the Role

The FOH Manager s top priority is to ensure full shift coverage and maintain a positive, supportive culture for our Front of House staff. This position combines hands on leadership, problem solving, and daily operational oversight.

You ll work closely with the GM and FOH team to keep the caf organized, consistent, and welcoming both for guests and employees.

Key Responsibilities

Shift Coverage & Scheduling

• Maintain full FOH shift coverage throughout the week
  
• Respond quickly to call outs and secure coverage or work the shift yourself
  
• Coordinate holiday and weekend scheduling with the GM
  
• Anticipate staffing gaps and plan proactively
  

Team Culture & Support

• Build strong, positive relationships with FOH staff
  
• Foster a safe, supportive, and inclusive work environment
  
• Maintain open communication and encourage staff feedback
  
• Coach shift leads and help strengthen FOH workflow and culture
  

Training & Accountability

• Assist in training new FOH employees
  
• Reinforce standards for hospitality, workflow, and product quality
  
• Hold staff accountable for side work, checkout sheets, and dress code
  
• Provide ongoing coaching and support
  

Operational & POS Competency

• Be fully trained on the POS system (programming buttons, refunds, transaction lookup, troubleshooting)
  
• Assist with daily problem solving around the shop
  
• Maintain FOH cleaning routines and shop organization
  
• Oversee proper storage and organization of deliveries
  

Product & Guest Experience

• Collaborate on seasonal drinks and coffee specials
  
• Support consistency in beverage quality and pastry presentation
  
• Uphold Old Europe s brand standards through hospitality and cleanliness

Compensation

This position starts at $20.00 per hour as a base wage.

In addition, when the FOH Manager works barista shifts (including coverage shifts), they receive all barista level tips for those hours, averaging an additional $15.00 $20.00 per hour depending on daily sales and guest traffic.

Estimated Total Hourly Earnings During Barista Shifts:
$35.00 $40.00 per hour (base wage + tips)

Tip earnings vary based on season, volume, and shift type, but this range reflects typical averages at Old Europe.

Pay: $35.00 - $40.00 per hour

Expected hours: No more than 40.0 per week
