Schedule: FULLTIME; Monday-Friday, 7 a.m.-4:30 p.m.

Job overview

Schneider is seeking a Fleet Manager in Chesapeake to serve as a coach to a group of owner-operator truck drivers who do business with Schneider. The Fleet Manager will talk to owner-operators about business-related issues and answer any questions they have related to their contract with Schneider.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate owner-operator business sessions.
• Ensure compliance with owner-operators' contracts.
• Administer operating standards concerning public safety and regulatory compliance within Schneider and Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration regulations.
• Manage the terminal's safety and compliance by monitoring and improving processes related to Hours of Service regulations, inspections, retention and operating procedures.
• Oversee the cost, utilization and return on investment of company assets.
• Identify the root cause of service issues and discuss contractual compliance with owner-operators.
• Analyze various courses of action and make recommendations.

Skills and qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
• 2 years of transportation experience preferred.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Solid analytical skills.
• Able to take initiative.
• Able to understand how data drives technology.
