ABOUT THE ROLE
As a Fleet Maintenance Manager, you will be responsible for the comprehensive management and maintenance of our fleet vehicles, overseeing the maintenance of our fleet, and managing the costs associated with the drayage trucking portion of the business. As an expert in fleet operations, your role will be crucial in providing support through various activities, including managing parts inventory, reporting, developing strategic business operational efficiencies, and supporting staff. You will be a key player in ensuring the fleet operates smoothly, safely, and cost-effectively.
HOW YOU WILL MAKE DIFFERENCE
- Oversee the maintenance of trucks, chassis, forklifts, and other modes of transportation to ensure safety and reliability.
- Ensure all vehicles are properly registered and licensed in compliance with State and Federal regulations.
- Identify and implement efficiencies within the fleet operations to reduce costs and improve performance.
- Develop and implement strategies to enhance fuel efficiency across the fleet.
- Maintain detailed records of vehicle servicing, inspections, and repairs to ensure compliance and operational transparency.
- Comply with U.S. Department of Transport (DOT) laws and regulations.
- Schedule regular vehicle maintenance to prevent breakdowns and minimize operational disruptions.
- Implement strict servicing and maintenance schedules to minimize downtime and keep operations on track.
- Analyze fleet performance data to identify areas for improvement.
QUALIFIACATIONS THAT ARE IMPORTANT TO US
- At least 3+ years in Fleet Management role, or a similar
- Must have a Bachelor’s degree, or a degree in an appropriate field
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
- Outstanding organizational skills and attention to detail
- Analytical mindset and good problem-solving skills
- Computer skills are necessary
- Must be bilingual in Spanish and English
- Must have a valid Driver’s License, with no accidents or violations.
- Excellent at working in a team environment, with an active role in their own development by integrating coaching/feedback on performance into daily routines
