Fixed Asset Security Manager [Agency Information Security Professional 1]

The Opportunity: We are seeking a detail-oriented Fixed Asset Security Manager to strengthen our agency's Division of Information Technology Services (ITS) security posture through comprehensive oversight of the IT asset lifecycle. This role is responsible for maintaining accurate and compliant tracking of all technology assets, ensuring secure distribution, monitoring software governance, and coordinating with vendors to uphold security standards.

Core Responsibilities:

IT Asset Security and Inventory Management

• Manage and safeguard agency-wide IT hardware including laptops, desktops, mobile devices, and network equipment

• Maintain accurate, compliant, and auditable asset records within the asset management system

• Oversee the secure lifecycle of IT assets, from procurement through decommissioning, ensuring devises are properly tagged, assigned, and tracked

• Ensure software and equipment are cataloged in alignment with IT security policies and configuration standards

• Coordinate secure distribution of IT equipment to DYS facilities

Operational Oversight and Vendor Coordination

• Develop, implement, and enforce security focused policies and procedures for inventory control, asset management, and disposal

• Coordinate secure disposal of fixed IT assets with State Salvage, ensuring proper disposal procedures are followed and policies are enforced

• Monitor software subscriptions, enterprise agreements, and maintenance contracts to support license compliance and reduce security risk

• Monitor budget spending, maintain invoice documentation, ensure proper approvals, post solicitations and obtain quotes

• Serve as a point of contact for technology vendors and ensure order fulfillment aligns with security and asset management requirements

36 mos. exp. in computer data security either through monitoring system/network traffic for anomalous activity, systems development or controlling accessibility of data.

Or completion of associate core program in computer science; and 18 mos. trg. or 18 mos. exp. in computer data security either through monitoring system/network traffic for anomalous activity, systems development or controlling accessibility of data.

Or completion of undergraduate core program in computer science; and 12 mos. trg. or 12 mos. exp. in computer data security either through monitoring system/network traffic for anomalous activity, systems development or controlling accessibility of data.

Or 12 mos. exp. as Information Technology Apprentice, 69910; successful completion of Ohio Cyber Apprenticeship program; additional 12 mos. trg. or exp. in Information Systems/Information Technology with a focus in one of the following areas: Software Engineering/Development, Data Analytics/Business Intelligence, Database Administration, Network, or IT Security.
