FIPS Security Specialist

Job Description: As a FIPS Security Specialist, you'll engage with customers as a technical point of contact, offering validation consultancy and guidance on the suitability of evidence for validation. Meets IAT Level I position requirements per DoD 8570.01-M, holding at least one of the following certifications: GISF, GSLC, Security +, or equivalent.

Job Description:As a FIPS Security Specialist, you'll engage with customers as a technical point of contact, offering validation consultancy and guidance on the suitability of evidence for validation. Your expertise will be crucial in supporting our mission to provide thorough security assessments.Primary Responsibilities:

• Conduct product security assessments competently under the guidance of the lead tester.
• Maintain ongoing communication with the lead tester regarding the status and execution of security assessments.
• Analyze and clarify customer requirements to ensure high-quality evaluations.
• Comply with verification and validation of test methods and procedures thoroughly.
• Analyze results, including conformity statements and applicable opinions.
• Report any nonconformities and obstacles to conducting accurate security assessments.
• Possess strong knowledge of FIPS standards
• Provide weekly status updates to the project lead.
• Lead client-facing activities professionally
• Execute physical testing autonomously.
• Draft Physical Testing Reports
• Create detailed Design Review Forms and onsite test plans.

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• Meets IAT Level I position requirements per DoD 8570.01-M, holding at least one of the following certifications: GISF, GSLC, Security +, or equivalent.
• A minimum of 2 years of experience in a CST validation laboratory or demonstrated proficiency in the field.
• Solid grasp of IT security concepts and familiarity with CST technical procedures and validation methodologies.

Preferred Qualifications:

• CERTIFIED VALIDATION PROFESSIONAL (CVP) certification is recommended for enhancing skills and future career development.
