EYs State and Local Tax (SALT) team is a growing practice within the organization, and youll see that growth reflected in your career. As a Tax Manager, youll play an important role within a rapidly expanding team that has experienced significant recent growth and aims to double in size over the next few years. With support from some of the most engaging professionals in the business, you can expect to further develop your tax technical skills, leadership capabilities, and business experience. Its all about taking on new challenges and responsibilities as they arise while making the most of our dedicated mentors and training programs.
Advise on indirect tax regulatory changes; design strategies, operating models, processes, and compliance frameworks that raise efficiency and meet requirements. Identify opportunities for tax optimization, credits and refund recovery, exposure reduction; manage strategies, compliance, remediation, controversies, and corrective filings. Support process review and technology transformation.
Your key responsibilities
Youll likely spend most of your time on a diverse array of projects, responsibilities, and tasks. To support these efforts, well look to you to apply your extensive knowledge of state and local tax concepts and law. You can expect to be working in a highly collaborative culture, where listening to and sharing information with colleagues is an essential part of the role.
Lead workstream delivery, track status and deliverables, and participate in client working sessions. Identify opportunities for additional services, contribute to RFPs, manage engagement economics, and implement resource plans and budgets. Guide teams, drive improvement, and recommend solutions by interpreting internal/external issues. Travel required regularly for external clients.

We offer a comprehensive compensation and benefits package where you'll be rewarded based on your performance and recognized for the value you bring to the business. The base salary range for this job is:
Bay Area California offices - $131,400 to $218,900
All other offices locations in the US, including Sacramento - $105,100 to $192,600
Individual salaries within these ranges are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge, skills and geography. In addition, our Total Rewards package includes medical and dental coverage, pension and 401(k) plans, and a wide range of paid time off options.
