Title: Financial Manager III

Duration: 6 months (Possible extension)
Location:  Boise, ID 83076
Pay Rate: $75-$90/Hr. (Based on experience).
 
Role will require the worker to come onsite 4 days a week.

 

Finance Manager –Distribution Finance

Reports To: Director, Distribution Finance

About the Role

  • The client is reinventing retail through innovation, scale, and local impact. As a Finance Manager –Distribution Finance, you will play a critical leadership role supporting Distribution & Replenishment operations across a complex, national supply chain. This role blends strategic finance, analytics, and people leadership to drive performance, enable transformation, and deliver measurable business results.

  • You will partner closely with operations, accounting, and enterprise teams to enhance visibility into financial performance, identify opportunities, and guide decision making at senior levels.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Financial Leadership & Strategy

  • Lead consolidation and analysis of P&L forecasts, annual operating plans, and long range outlooks.

  • Analyze variances between actuals, forecasts, and plans;translate insights into clear, actionable recommendations for senior leadership.

  • Develop and evaluate financial models to quantify benefits, risks, and tradeoffs for strategic initiatives.

  • Build a deep understanding of distribution center (DC) cost drivers, profitability levers, and P&L interdependencies.

  • Analytics, Reporting & Transformation

  • Identify reporting gaps resulting from system and process transformations;design actionable dashboards and standardized reporting.

  • Drive process & reporting optimization within department and field locations

  • Serve as a subject matter expert during new WMS and financial system integrations, identifying enhancement and automation opportunities.

  • Lead complex ad hoc analyses, including scenario modeling, root cause analysis, and performance diagnostics.

  • Drive disciplined projection and forecasting processes across DCs and provide expert troubleshooting support.

  • Business Partnership & Influence

  • Act as a trusted finance partner to operations leaders by delivering timely, accurate insights that support data driven decision making.

  • Communicate complex financial information in a clear, concise manner tailored to different audiences.

  • Support change management initiatives through strong project management, communication, and process control.

  • People & Talent Development

  • Lead, coach, and develop a high performing finance team;build bench strength and identify high potential talent.

  • Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

  • Contribute to integrated talent management and succession planning efforts.

 
Cost Optimization & Value Creation

  • Identify cost reduction and productivity opportunities across the distribution network.

  • Partner with Accounting to ensure accurate tracking of savings, cash flow impacts, and vendor driven initiatives.

 
Qualifications
Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Economics, or related field (MBA preferred).

  • 8+ years of progressive finance experience, including 3+ years in people management.

  • Experience supporting operations, manufacturing, or supply chain environments preferred.

 
Technical & Analytical Skills
Advanced financial modeling, forecasting, and P&L analysis expertise.

Strong systems and analytics background;experience with Hyperion Essbase, SQL, and large data sets.

Advanced proficiency in Excel;working knowledge of PowerPoint and Word.

 
Leadership & Professional Skills

  • Strong business acumen with the ability to connect financial insights to operational outcomes.

  • Highly organized, structured thinker able to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines.

  • Proven ability to develop processes from the ground up in fast changing environments.

  • Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills;comfortable influencing senior leaders.
