GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES

Under the leadership of the Director, Budget, the position is responsible for providing direct support for the annual federal card survey process and Impact Aid program. Additional duties may include review, analysis, and reconciling of a wide variety of budget and financial documents; compilation of data and report preparation; reviewing documents for accuracy; perform timekeeping functions; and providing support for the annual budget development process.

ESSENTIAL TASKS

  • Assist in preparing annual reports and funding applications for the Impact Aid program.
  • Review and reconcile returned federal survey cards for accuracy and completeness; communicate with school personnel to address discrepancies and omissions.
  • Determine funding eligibility for returned cards and ensure proper coding.
  • Enter eligible card data in the Impact Aid database; reconcile discrepancies against information recorded in the student information system; compile data and prepare necessary reports.
  • Assist in training school and division personnel on Impact Aid data collection and the federal card survey process. • Assist in preparing and updating the Impact Aid manual.
  • Communicate effectively with various departments, schools, community organizations, and the public to provide technical assistance and support for the federal card survey process.
  • Assist in the research, analysis, development, and summarization of financial information for audit and financial reporting purposes.
  • Record and scan financial data, budget information and reports into computerized systems in accordance with proper and established procedures.
  • Process purchase requisitions and invoices for payment in Oracle.
  • Assist with the fiscal year-end closeout process as needed.
  • Compose and proofread various documents.
  • Perform time and attendance functions as assigned.
  • Maintain the confidentiality of sensitive information.
  • Perform related work as required.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Must have a comprehensive knowledge of office terminology, procedures and equipment, including the operation of computers and associated financial management, spreadsheet, and database and word processing software; Must have the ability to communicate effectively and build working relationships with internal and external people; establish and follow detailed work procedures; take direction and perform mathematical computations with speed and accuracy; work independently and under pressure; prepare and maintain computerized records and systems: and analyze, organize, coordinate, and prioritize daily duties to facilitate workflow efficiency. Must have excellent computer, oral, and written communication skills.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Required: High School Diploma or GED. Computer training to include proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, databases, ERP systems and procurement software.

Preferred: Associate''s degree in accounting, business, or finance.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Must have the use of sensory skills to effectively communicate and interact with other employees and the public using the telephone and personal contact as normally defined by the ability to see, read, talk, hear, handle or feel objects and controls. Frequent sitting, walking, grasping, fingering, repetitive motion, and reaching. Occasional standing, bending, and crouching. Ability to lift up to 20 pounds occasionally. Salary Range: From/To

Hourly rate range: $20.66-$30.13

Compensation will be based on job-related creditable years of full-time, verified work experience. The entry-level rate will be awarded at the time of hire. Upon the return of employment verification forms from the candidate''s current and previous employers, the rate will be adjusted if creditable full-time experience is confirmed.
