JOB DESCRIPTION

We are looking for the right fit to ensure continuation on our finance team following a planned retirement. The ideal candidate is someone who is hands-on, detail-oriented, and enjoys solving problems. A process-oriented, critical thinker that is interested and nds value in knowing the "why". This person would have a desire to learn about the complexities of school nance and grow their responsibilities as content knowledge grows. They would take a sense of pride in the customer service they provide and value the support the nance team gives to all parts of Saline Area Schools and the greater community. The position would be under the direct supervision of the Assistant Superintendent of Finance, but will require the ability to take direction from others and also be comfortable giving input about current and new processes.

QUALIFICATIONS

Required Education/Certification

  • High School Diploma required

Preferred Education/Certification

  • Associates or Bachelors degree preferred

Required Experience

  • Experience in financial or business office settings.
  • Evidence of ability to establish positive working relationships with coworkers and all stakeholders.
  • Experience providing exemplary customer service to internal and external customers
  • Evidence of strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Evidence of learning new systems.

Preferred Experience

  • Experience with general accounts payable, accounts receivable, or related accounting work.
  • Strong computer skills and familiarity with Excel and Google Suite.
  • Experience in a K-12 or public sector educational finance environment.

RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES

  • Assist with the day-to-day operations of the finance office and provide clerical support.
  • Provide support with data entry in accounts payable, accounts receivable and other general ledger tasks.
  • Assist with calling vendors, reconciling differences and maintaining up to date files.
  • Assist with vendor record setup and maintenance, including fraud verification and 1099 processing.
  • Monitor aging purchase orders and receivables and initiate follow up with departments or external vendors.
  • Provide support to department and building administrative assistants via email, phone, in person training and creating work aids.
  • Generate reports or compile data to support the finance office and other departments throughout the district.
  • Monitor and process electronic paperwork workflow and support users of the workflow.
  • Assist in maintaining electronic documents, files and records for the purpose of providing up-to-date reference and audit trail for compliance.

$45,684 - $60,121 dependent on experience.
