This internship will take place during the summer of 2027 in Redmond, WA.

As a Finance MBA Intern in Microsoft's Central Finance Team, you will own a high-impact project for 12 weeks that helps senior Finance leaders understand business performance, evaluate strategic tradeoffs, and make informed decisions across one of the world's largest technology companies. The Central Finance team at Microsoft is responsible for analysis of company performance, creation of financial forecasts, development of the annual budget, ensuring accurate close results, and providing ad-hoc support for management requests. Your project will provide you with valuable insights into the company, its stakeholders' objectives, internal systems, operating practices, and constraints. You will be able to apply your previous knowledge and skills to develop solutions to complex issues.

Throughout your internship, you will have the chance to learn about various aspects of the company and its operations. At the end of your internship, you will have the opportunity to present your work and findings to senior finance leaders. Responsibilities

• Contributes to the analysis of present and future financial performance of various products, segments, or other businesses. Assists more upper-level team members to conduct analysis and research studies of financial plans, acquisition activity, and future opportunities.

• Assists in the execution of annual business planning and forecasting process. Gathers insight and contributes to analysis and research to support preliminary and adjusted forecast cycles.

• Contributes insights for financial plans, variance analysis, resource optimization, investments, key performance indicators (KPIs), long-range planning, and driving margin accountability. Manages and executes processes through engagement with internal and external stakeholders.

• Assembles and summarizes data through data mining and business intelligence to structure reports and financial models for decision support. Leverages statistical analyses, predictive analytics, and financial modeling techniques to conduct sophisticated analyses. Acts as subject matter expert for data management and operations. Understands the history of data procurement, location, methods, issues, and actions taken.

• Use AI-enabled tools, automation, and advanced analytics to accelerate financial analysis, identify insights, and improve the scalability and quality of Finance processes.

• Communicates recurring and ad-hoc results in a logical and understandable message.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a Full-time Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree.

• Must have at least 1 semester/term remaining following the completion of the internship.

• 3+ years experience in financial analysis, accounting, controllership, finance, or related field OR equivalent experience

Preferred Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience in Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) within a global organization

• Proven track record of working in large-scale global organizations

• Extensive corporate finance experience, including financial analysis, forecasting, and budgeting

The base pay range for this internship is USD $5,190.00 - $10,250.00 per month. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $6,810.00 - $11,330.00 per month.
