    Description

Amazon is hiring a Finance Manager for our Global Corporate Procurement (GCP) Finance team at our Arlington office. This role is crucial to our corporate sourcing strategy and company success. As a Finance Manager on the GCP Finance team, you will shape and lead the financial strategy behind our most strategic negotiations, operating in ambiguous situations where the path forward is not yet defined and using your judgment to set the right goals and design durable, long-term solutions. You will develop innovative sourcing pricing strategies and lead the financial approach to negotiating sustainable, long-term partnerships.

The GCP Finance team supports multiple business areas, including Marketing, Logistics, Global Real Estate, Employee Services, Technology, and Professional Services. Partnering with Strategic Sourcing Managers and leaders across these organizations, you will influence strategic decision-making through data-driven recommendations, challenging business partner assumptions and plans and bringing disruptive ideas that improve outcomes.

This role requires someone who owns complex, often ambiguous problems end-to-end, mitigating long-term risk and finding a path forward in difficult situations while managing multiple priorities across teams and organizations. You will drive best practices and build scalable solutions that simplify and automate financial tools and processes, and you will act as a force multiplier by mentoring others and giving back to the Finance community. The ideal candidate is deeply versed in financial concepts and tools, performs multifaceted analysis with limited guidance, and communicates complex outcomes clearly to senior, non-Finance partners with the backbone to disagree and commit.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a diverse, talented team that has a daily impact on company success. At Amazon, we"re building the future through innovation, one product, service, and idea at a time. If you"re ready to embrace this challenge and help shape Amazon"s future, we invite you to apply and join us in this critical role.

    Key job responsibilities

    • Own product-cost reporting, auditing accuracy and data integrity and mentoring others on it.
    • Lead cross-functional operational reviews with leadership, driving alignment and influencing strategic decisions.
    • Challenge and advise Finance and Procurement teams, independently identifying opportunities to improve performance.
    • Navigate across Finance, Tax, Procurement, and Accounting to quantify the financial impact of purchasing at Amazon.
    • Set direction on cost management, reporting, and forecasting initiatives, owning them end-to-end and mitigating long-term risk.
    • Define and drive cost management policy and scalable, AI-native processes that help the organization grow and reach more customers.

    A day in the life

You will partner with Strategic Sourcing Managers across categories and business lines to analyze the economics of upcoming negotiations, validating savings baselines, building pricing models, and completing true-ups to confirm value delivered. A signature challenge is negotiating large, complex contracts spanning hundreds of line items from many suppliers, where you move fast, make judgment calls, and earn senior customers" trust.

You will also help scale how the team works, rebuilding processes to support more partnerships and focus on more rewarding analysis, using AI to get there.

    About Company

At Amazon, we don’t wait for the next big idea to present itself. We envision the shape of impossible things and then we boldly make them reality. So far, this mindset has helped us achieve some incredible things. Let’s build new systems, challenge the status quo, and design the world we want to live in. We believe the work you do here will be the best work of your life.

Wherever you are in your career exploration, Amazon likely has an opportunity for you. Our research scientists and engineers shape the future of natural language understanding with Alexa. Fulfillment center associates around the globe send customer orders from our warehouses to doorsteps. Product managers set feature requirements, strategy, and marketing messages for brand new customer experiences. And as we grow, we’ll add jobs that haven’t been invented yet.

    It’s Always Day 1
At Amazon, it’s always “Day 1.” Now, what does this mean and why does it matter? It means that our approach remains the same as it was on Amazon’s very first day – to make smart, fast decisions, stay nimble, invent, and stay focused on delighting our customers. In our 2016 shareholder letter, Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos shared his thoughts on how to keep up a Day 1 company mindset. “Staying in Day 1 requires you to experiment patiently, accept failures, plant seeds, protect saplings, and double down when you see customer delight,” he wrote. “A customer-obsessed culture best creates the conditions where all of that can happen.” You can read the full letter here

    Our Leadership Principles
Our Leadership Principles help us keep a Day 1 mentality. They aren’t just a pretty inspirational wall hanging. Amazonians use them, every day, whether they’re discussing ideas for new projects, deciding on the best solution for a customer’s problem, or interviewing candidates.
