Field Service Technician

This engaging role offers the opportunity to work independently, ensuring the safety and functionality of vital medical equipment in active patient environments. Make a tangible difference in healthcare by providing essential preventive maintenance and updates to devices used daily by healthcare professionals and patients alike.

This is a 6-8 week assignment

Required Skills:

• Minimum of one year of technical experience or an AA degree, or credentialing as a Biomedical Engineer
• Ability to perform basic device preventive maintenance, including battery replacements and software updates
• Proficiency in data entry and tracking via computer systems and mobile devices; all work documented electronically in real-time
• Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with hospital staff
• Familiarity with using basic tools (screwdrivers, wrenches, SD cards, etc.)
• Ability to adhere to hospital safety and privacy protocols

Nice to Have Skills:

• Experience with medical equipment or biomedical device servicing
• Additional certifications in healthcare technology or related fields
• Previous experience working within hospital environments

Preferred Education and Experience:

• AA degree or related technical certification
• At least one year of relevant technical experience

Other Requirements:

• Credentialing to access hospital systems (e.g., Vendormate or equivalent)
• Willingness to work in active hospital settings with patients in the vicinity
• Local residency preferred due to travel considerations
• Ability to travel between hospital sites within the San Jose area, if necessary
• Training provided online via Zoom or Teams; prior experience with remote training platforms helpful
