About the Opportunity

Doherty Staffing Solutions is hiring a Field Service Technician for a manufacturing company serving the Superior, WI area. In this role, you’ll provide expert technical support, troubleshoot hydraulic heavy equipment, and deliver high-quality service directly at customer sites. What You’ll Do as a Field Service Technician:
  • Travel to customer and dealer sites to diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair heavy equipment
  • Serve as the primary technical representative, supporting customers and internal teams
  • Interpret electrical and hydraulic schematics and perform mechanical, hydraulic, and light welding repairs
  • Deliver training to customers and service personnel (both classroom and hands-on)
  • Document service activities, maintain accurate reports, and communicate updates
  • Coordinate travel logistics and follow up to ensure issues are fully resolved
  • Assist sales teams with product support and application recommendations

What You Need to Bring to the Field Service Technician Role:
  • Associate’s degree, hydraulic certification, or 5+ years of relevant experience
  • Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience with heavy equipment and attachments
  • Ability to travel extensively (up to 80%, including domestic and occasional international travel)
  • Strong troubleshooting, diagnostic, and independent problem-solving skills
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical and hydraulic schematics
  • Experience using diagnostic tools (multimeters, pressure gauges, flow meters)
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to train others
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and general computer use
  • Ability to perform light welding in the field
  • Fluent in English; Spanish is a plus
