Brasfield & Gorrie is hiring Field Engineers/Construction Surveyors in Nashville. With over 60 years delivering high-profile and complex projects across the Southeast, we are building out our Nashville field engineering team to support some of the citys most significant active projects. Whether you are a traditional field engineer focused on layout and documentation or a survey professional with Leica robotic total station experience, we have a role for you.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
FIELD ENGINEER / CONSTRUCTION SURVEYOR
- Perform field layouts and construction surveys using Leica robotic total stations
- Lead survey teams as Party Chief or Crew Chief, assigning tasks and ensuring project milestones are met
- Process survey data and drawings using Carlson and AutoCAD
- Maintain and calibrate surveying equipment
- Collaborate with project teams to solve field challenges and ensure accuracy
- Work outdoors in all weather conditions; able to work at heights and lift up to 75 pounds
QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience as a Field Engineer, Surveyor, Party Chief, or Crew Chief required
- Proficiency with Leica robotic total stations, Carlson, and AutoCAD required
- Strong understanding of construction surveying practices and principles
- Higher-level math skills including algebra and trigonometry
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills

Education - Skills - Knowledge - Qualifications & Experience
- 5 years of experience as a Field Engineer or Survey Crew Chief is preferred
- Knowledge of general contract and subcontract documents, drawings, specifications, and surveying instruments
- Must be able to work at elevated heights, frequently lift materials weighing up to 70 lbs and work in outside all weather conditions
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, operating and maintenance instructions, shop drawings, procedure manuals, and safety rules
- Experience with data collectors, electronic or robotic total stations, digital levels, tripod, prism, Carlson explorer, Carlson software, computers
- Ability to communicate well both verbally and in writing
- Higher math skills (algebra and trigonometry)
