    Position Summary

    The Maintenance Facilities Technician is responsible for maintaining the manufacturing facility, grounds, utilities, and building systems to ensure a safe, reliable, and efficient work environment. This role performs preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, repairs, and inspections of facility equipment and infrastructure, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, lighting, compressed air systems, and general building maintenance. The technician works closely with production, engineering, safety, and maintenance teams to minimize downtime and support operational excellence.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities

    • Perform routine inspections, preventive maintenance, and repairs on facility equipment and building systems.
    • Maintain HVAC, plumbing, electrical, lighting, fire protection, compressed air, and utility systems.
    • Troubleshoot and repair facility-related issues to minimize disruptions to manufacturing operations.
    • Conduct building maintenance activities including painting, carpentry, flooring, and general repairs.
    • Monitor facility systems for performance, safety, and regulatory compliance.
    • Support facility improvement projects, equipment installations, and office renovations.
    • Coordinate with outside contractors and vendors for specialized maintenance and service work.
    • Maintain maintenance records, work orders, and preventive maintenance documentation.
    • Respond to emergency maintenance requests and facility-related breakdowns.
    • Ensure compliance with OSHA, environmental, company safety, and regulatory requirements.
    • Assist with snow removal, grounds maintenance, waste disposal, and housekeeping activities as needed.
    • Identify opportunities to improve facility reliability, energy efficiency, and cost effectiveness.
    • Participate in safety audits, inspections, and continuous improvement initiatives.
    • Support production downtime activities and plant shutdown maintenance schedules.

    Required Qualifications

    • 3 years of maintenance or facilities experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
    • Working knowledge of electrical, mechanical, plumbing, HVAC, and general building maintenance systems.
    • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical manuals, and schematics.
    • Proficiency using maintenance management systems and basic computer applications.
    • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
    • Ability to work independently and prioritize multiple tasks.

    Preferred Qualifications

    • HVAC certification.
    • Electrical maintenance experience.
    • Refrigeration or compressed air system experience.
    • Forklift, scissor lift, or aerial lift certification.
    • OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification.
    • Technical certification, vocational training, or associate degree in maintenance, industrial technology, or related field preferred.
