Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Facilities Maintenance Specialist to support critical utilities, facility infrastructure, and manufacturing equipment within a pharmaceutical/biotechnology manufacturing environment.

The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience with fire-tube boilers, steam systems, wastewater treatment, industrial utilities, preventive/corrective maintenance, and mechanical/electrical troubleshooting. GMP experience is preferred but not required. Candidates with strong industrial utilities, power generation, wastewater, or U.S. Navy engineering/maintenance backgrounds are encouraged to apply.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on facility, manufacturing, process, and utility equipment.

  • Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot fire-tube boilers and steam-generation systems.

  • Support critical utilities including clean/plant steam, compressed air, nitrogen, HVAC, refrigeration, industrial water, and wastewater systems.

  • Support wastewater treatment modernization, system upgrades, optimization, and reliability improvement projects.

  • Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and utility-system issues.

  • Perform equipment inspections, system walkdowns, functional testing, startup support, and operational-readiness activities.

  • Maintain bulk chemical systems, including acid/caustic storage, chemical transfer piping, pumps, offloading systems, and wastewater neutralization.

  • Create, update, and close maintenance work orders using CMMS systems.

  • Read and interpret P&IDs, equipment drawings, SOPs, technical manuals, and engineering documentation.

  • Document maintenance activities, repairs, investigations, and deviations using systems such as Maximo and Veeva.

  • Collaborate with Engineering, Quality, Validation, Operations, and Facilities teams.

Job Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in facilities maintenance, utilities, industrial maintenance, power generation, manufacturing operations, or related environments.

  • Strong hands-on experience with critical utility systems and facility infrastructure.

  • Experience operating and troubleshooting fire-tube boilers and steam-generation equipment.

  • Experience with wastewater treatment systems, preferably including modernization or improvement projects.

  • Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.

  • Experience using CMMS for work orders and maintenance documentation.

  • Ability to read P&IDs, equipment drawings, SOPs, and technical documentation.

  • High school diploma, technical degree, trade certification, military training, or equivalent relevant experience.

Preferred

  • Pharmaceutical, biotech, medical device, or other GMP manufacturing experience.

  • Maximo and/or Veeva experience.

  • Industrial water, wastewater, and chemical-handling experience.

  • Commissioning, qualification, validation, or operational-readiness experience.

  • Aseptic, sterile, or fill-finish manufacturing experience.

  • U.S. Navy engineering, utilities, mechanical, nuclear, maintenance, or power-generation experience is highly desirable.

Strong consideration will be given to candidates with extensive fire-tube boiler experience, wastewater modernization experience, or strong industrial/military utility maintenance backgrounds.
