The Role

The Litigation Attorney will manage a sophisticated civil litigation caseload and play a key role in developing and executing legal strategy.

This is a substantive litigation position for an attorney who enjoys analyzing challenging issues, developing creative approaches, communicating with clients, and taking ownership of complex matters.

Compensation:

$160,000 - $220,000 DOE


Responsibilities:
  • Manage civil litigation matters from initial case assessment through resolution
  • Evaluate legal and factual issues and develop appropriate case strategies
  • Conduct complex legal research and prepare detailed legal analysis
  • Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, discovery, correspondence, and other legal documents
  • Prepare for and participate in hearings, depositions, mediations, and trial proceedings
  • Represent clients in court, administrative proceedings, and other legal forums
  • Prepare witnesses and clients for hearings, depositions, mediation, and trial
  • Communicate proactively with clients regarding case strategy, developments, and expectations
  • Provide practical, strategic legal advice tailored to each client's circumstances
  • Collaborate with other attorneys and legal professionals on complex matters
  • Identify creative and practical solutions to difficult legal issues

You will be trusted with substantive legal work and given the opportunity to use your experience and judgment.


Qualifications:

What We're Looking For

We are seeking an experienced litigator who is confident handling complex matters while remaining collaborative, thoughtful, and client-focused.

Required Qualifications

  • J.D. from an accredited law school
  • Active membership in the California State Bar and in good standing
  • 5+ years of civil litigation experience
  • Demonstrated experience with motion practice, discovery, depositions, hearings, and trial preparation
  • Strong legal research, writing, analytical, and advocacy skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities
  • Strong client relationship and counseling skills
  • Excellent professional judgment and attention to detail
  • Ability to independently manage complex litigation matters
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills
  • Ability to prioritize competing deadlines and responsibilities
  • Proactive, resourceful, and solutions-oriented approach
  • Commitment to providing high-quality legal representation and client service

Preferred Experience

Experience in education law is welcome but not required.

We are particularly interested in attorneys who are intellectually curious, adaptable, comfortable learning new areas of law, and excited by challenging litigation.

Compensation and Benefits

$160,000 to $220,000 annual salary, based on experience and qualifications
