Essential Job Function:
Leads and manages an effective and efficient systemwide oncology and high-cost medication fiscal program including a comprehensive strategy for drug management.
Effectively oversees oncology and specialty infusion pharmacy services on all campuses in accordance with governmental, legal, quality, and other regulatory standards (TJC, DHSR, QOPI, URAC, ACHC, Board of Pharmacy, USP<<797>>, USP<<800>>, etc.) through various activities and committees.
Leads expansion of pharmacy services including payer and manufacturer relationships.
Oversees infusion service growth across oncology and biologics, including home infusion services.
Oversees system-wide medication access and support services including prior authorization, and patient assistance. Collaborates with cross-functional stakeholders.
Evaluates and implements standardized policies and processes that promote adherence to standards and improve overall quality. Builds a data-driven culture across the enterprise including the implementation of KPIs to drive critical business functions. Leverages technology and innovation where appropriate to drive efficiency and optimize patient care.
Responsible for all human resource functions to build and develop a successful team. Assures that the department develops and maintains patient specific clinical competencies and that staff meet those competencies on a routine basis. Builds high-performing teams and fosters innovation.
Ensures regulatory compliance and clinical excellence. Adheres to ASHP requirements, principles and guidelines to support all Cone Health residency programs including the PGY2 Oncology program.
Manages financial performance, budgeting, and revenue cycle.
Education:
Required: Bachelor's in Pharmacy or Doctor of Pharmacy Degree.
Preferred: Master's Degree (MBA, MHA, MS)
Experience:
Required: A minimum of five (5) years of progressive hospital pharmacy management experience.
Preferred: Specialty, infusion, or oncology pharmacy leadership experience
Licensure/Certification/Listing:
Required: Active NC pharmacist license or ability to obtain within 60 days of hire.
Preferred: BCOP, CSP or relevant board certification.
