Executive Director, Global Technology Strategy

As an Executive Director on the Global Technology Strategy team, you will bring significant technical depth, a strong command of how the AI landscape is evolving in the market, particularly for financial institutions, and the leadership and communication skills to drive clarity on high-stakes decisions. As an Executive Director on the Global Technology Strategy team, you will bring significant technical depth, a strong command of how the AI landscape is evolving in the market, particularly for financial institutions, and the leadership and communication skills to drive clarity on high-stakes decisions. This is not solely a people-management role: you will roll up your sleeves and work alongside your team to shape the answer firsthand, engaging directly with stakeholders on the substance rather than only directing, reviewing, and socializing the work. You will drive alignment toward a common answer across a wide group of stakeholders, and then help mobilize those stakeholders toward execution on questions critical to the firm's technology strategy, AI deployment, governance, operating model, and architecture.

The Global Technology Strategy team is a specialized team of executives who partner directly with some of the firm's most senior technology leaders on the most pressing strategic questions they face. Rather than covering a broad general portfolio, this role will own a tighter, focused area and operate within a focused team organized around a number of strategic initiatives, each with its own senior stakeholders at the technology leadership level.

Job Responsibilities

• Partner directly with the firm's most senior technology leaders as a trusted advisor and thought partner on their most pressing and consequential strategic questions
• Own a focused portfolio of strategic initiatives, each with dedicated senior technology stakeholders, and drive them from problem framing through to a defensible, agreed answer
• Bring a diverse set of stakeholders together to converge on a common answer, then help mobilize the organization to translate that answer into execution
• Frame the problems the organization should be working on, bringing clarity and a defensible direction to the firm's most complex, consequential and politically charged decisions
• Monitor industry trends and the evolution of the AI space-especially as it applies to financial institutions-and apply leading practices to inform and evaluate the firmwide technology strategy
• Scope and direct the strategic thinking and problem-solving approach for a focused team; develop and mentor team members and junior managers on professional development, technical/tools upskilling, career advice, and communications

Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills

• At least 10+ years of business and technology strategy experience with hands-on delivery of complex solutions and owning the execution of global solutions
• Extensive experience as a technology-focused strategy practitioner who has advised senior clients on technology strategy within a broad, complex corporate setting, helping to shape and lead technology strategy at the enterprise level
• Meaningful exposure to the commercial or business side of an organization
• Significant technical depth, including a deep understanding of technical concepts, architectures, and operating models sufficient to set technical strategy and interface credibly with senior technologists, architects and engineers
• Strong grasp of the evolution of the AI space in the market, with specific fluency in how AI is being adopted and governed within financial institutions
• Demonstrated ability to drive a wide group of stakeholders toward a common, defensible answer and to mobilize them toward execution
• Strong relationship and interpersonal skills and the ability to interact with and influence senior business and technology executives
• Excellent technical and business presentation, writing, and verbal communication skills, with a demonstrated ability to develop and deliver a compelling, credible narrative that weaves together strategy, emerging technologies, and industry trends for both technical and non-technical senior executives
• A system perspective on how architecture, governance, risk and talent interact at firm scale
• Proven success leading firmwide transformation initiatives within the technology domain
• Strong facilitation, process and influencing skills, with a proven entrepreneurial style

Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills

• Undergraduate or graduate degree in business or a technology field (or related field)
• Authoritative grasp of AI governance, model risk management, and designing the operating models needed to scale emerging technologies under regulatory scrutiny
• Hands-on experience using agentic AI development tools to build assets in service of answering strategic questions (as opposed to building PowerPoint decks)
