Primary Duties and Responsibilities

The Executive Director will provide direct support to the Department of Medicine Executive Administration. They will support the Chief Administrative Officer, department administrative operations, and strategic initiatives. The incumbent will also oversee areas of staff career development and engagement initiatives.

Annual salary range: 132,300.00 - 307,100.00. The department's target salary range is 213,300.00 - 220,000.00

Required:

  • Bachelor's Degree (BA, Health Care Administration, Public Health, or related field, and/or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum of five years Healthcare leadership experience along with an understanding of clinical, research, and education operations.
  • Demonstrated strategic leadership, planning and change management skills in a highly matrixed environment, preferably a research-intensive medical school/health system.
  • Ability to demonstrate a high level of diplomacy in persuading and influencing a wide variety of people at various levels to achieve results.
  • Demonstrated ability to identify and analyze all pertinent information/data to make and communicate executive level recommendations and decisions.
  • Exceptional negotiation and effective interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to establish a culture of integrity and accountability.
  • Advanced expertise in financial planning and analysis and decision support as it pertains to academic health care, research and higher education.
  • Demonstrated skills as a receptive listener, influential and persuasive and seeks to understand the differing sides of each situation. Makes decisions effectively and decisively.
  • Strong knowledge of industry standards, trends and regulatory requirements.
  • Advanced expertise using computer software such as Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, database management and timekeeping software.
  • Ability to use high-level discretion and maintain a high level of confidentiality.

Preferred:

  • Education Master's Degree (Health Care Administration, Public Health, or Related Field)
  • Knowledge of academic and/or administrative structure of institutions of higher education.
