This role is pivotal in driving the success of our projects, ensuring financial and operational efficiencies are maximized. The ideal candidate will be responsible for quantity takeoffs, bid solicitation, construction subcontractor management, value engineering, conceptual estimating, and specification review. This role requires a strong understanding of construction management and material take off (MTO). Job DetailsResponsibilities:
- Conduct detailed quantity takeoffs and prepare cost estimates for construction projects.
- Manage bid solicitation process, ensuring all relevant details are considered and accurately represented.
- Oversee construction subcontractor management, ensuring all subcontractors are delivering quality work within budget and time constraints.
- Utilize value engineering principles to identify potential cost savings without compromising project quality or timelines.
- Develop conceptual estimates to assist in early stage project planning and decision making.
- Review project specifications and identify any potential issues or areas for improvement.
- Collaborate with project managers and other team members to ensure all cost considerations are accounted for and budgets are adhered to.
- Continually monitor project costs, identifying any variances and working to rectify these promptly.
- Prepare reports and presentations on project estimates and costs for senior management.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Quantity Surveying, or related field.
- Minimum of 5 years' experience in a similar role within the construction industry.
- Proficiency in quantity takeoffs, bid solicitation, construction subcontractor management, value engineering, and conceptual estimating.
- Strong understanding of construction management processes and principles.
- Experience in material take off (MTO) is essential.
- Exceptional analytical and mathematical skills, with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to manage relationships with subcontractors effectively.
- Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and resolve issues promptly.
- Proficiency in relevant software applications, such as MS Office and estimating software.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
- A proactive and team-oriented approach to work.
- Knowledge of current industry trends and regulations.
