CFS is partnering with a premier wealth management and fiduciary services organization to hire an Estate Tax Accountant.

Estate Tax Accountant

Location: Fully Remote (Must reside in New England)
Salary: Competitive, commensurate with experience, 130-140k

Are you an experienced Estate Tax Accountant looking for a fully remote opportunity with a highly respected financial services organization? Our client is seeking a tax professional with strong fiduciary and estate tax experience to manage a high-volume portfolio of returns and provide expert support on complex tax matters.

Responsibilities:

Prepare and review a high volume of fiduciary and estate tax returns, including Forms 1041 and 706
Manage a portfolio of approximately 150-300 returns annually
Ensure compliance with federal and state tax regulations
Research complex tax issues and provide recommendations
Collaborate with trust officers, advisors, and internal stakeholders
Assist with tax planning strategies related to estates and trusts
Respond to tax notices and support audit inquiries as needed
Maintain accurate documentation and client records

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
3+ years of experience preparing fiduciary, estate, and trust tax returns
Experience handling a high-volume tax workload
Strong knowledge of estate, gift, trust, and fiduciary taxation
CPA, EA, or master's in taxation preferred
Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills
Must reside in New England
