Environmental Service Director

The Environmental Services Director assumes administrative authority, responsibility and accountability for providing Maintenance, Housekeeping and Laundry Services. Maintains a cleaning protocol and schedule, which addresses all areas of the facility and maintains customer satisfaction. In collaboration with the Administrator, allocates resources in an effective and economic manner to ensure that housekeeping and laundry services are provided and that the services enhance quality of life in the facility and all state and federal regulations related to environment are met. This position plays a key role in the infection control program of the facility.

Responsibilities:

• Management of the TELS platform and associated task completion.
• Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organizational policies and applicable laws.
• Plans, assigns and directs work. 
• Prepares work assignment sheets.
• Monitors and corrects job performance of employees. 
• Adequately supervises assigned staff and assures that those staff are supervising employees assigned to them. 

Education and/or Experience:

• High school diploma or equivalent 
• Minimum of two (2) years housekeeping experience in an institutional environment with supervisory or management responsibilities. 
• Current knowledge of state and federal laws and regulations that apply to practice of environmental service in long-term care.
