Engineering Technician 3
Summary: The main function of the engineering technician is to support engineering projects by adapting and applying engineering techniques, conducting tests and inspections, and preparing reports and calculations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Set-up and perform chemical, electrical, mechanical or related experiments in the lab or in pre-clinical evaluations
• Support development of new or improved test methods simulating actual product use conditions
• Execute test protocols and document results
• Prepare experimental data for analysis and highlight unique observations
• Provide input on improvements to MPI’s, SOP's, LBR's, TP's and LHR’s related to test methods
• Document and trouble-shoot new fixtures, procedures, and equipment
• Improve and/or optimize existing equipment, fixtures, protocols, and methods
• Maintain a laboratory notebook
• Work closely with all supporting groups and departments
• Other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications:
• Comfortable working hands-on in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to deal with ambiguity/uncertainty and a willingness to try new/challenging things
• Attention to detail and keen sense of observation
• Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills
• Ability to prioritize activities to meet project objectives on time
• Demonstrated written and verbal communication skills
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Products
Preferred Qualifications: (Optional)
• Work experience in Medical Device or related industry
• Experience interacting with/operating fixtures & equipment that are early prototypes and actively being developed
Skills: Creativity, verbal and written communication skills, analytical and problem solving ability. Team player and detail oriented. Basic knowledge of the practical application of engineering science and technology.
Education/Experience: Associates degree in engineering technology or related field required. 2-4 years experience required.
