Description

Our engineering consulting client is hiring an Engineering Team Leader - MEP for its Cincinnati office, recently acquired from a local firm specializing in MEP design for food and beverage manufacturing clients. 

 

The Engineering Team Leader provides technical leadership, staff development, and quality oversight for a multidisciplinary team supporting manufacturing facility projects. This role builds technical capability, strengthens standards, mentors staff, and partners with Project Managers and Client Leaders to support project delivery, client needs, and growth. 

 

The role is expected to be approximately 50% funded client project work and 50% team leadership. 

 

Location: Cincinnati, OH (Onsite)
Job Type: Direct Hire
Salary: $150,000 - $200,000 per year, based on experience, technical expertise, industry background, and overall qualifications. Excellent benefits and company leadership bonus plan

 

Job Responsibilities

Technical Leadership, Quality, and Risk Management 

  • Lead Facility Systems technical competency areas, including architecture and building MEP engineering 
  • Reinforce technical standards, quality practices, digital workflows, codes, and procedures 
  • Support technical problem solving, project execution, and multidisciplinary coordination 
  • Lead technical reviews for high-risk or high-visibility projects 
  • Champion innovation, digital delivery, continuous improvement, lessons learned, and risk mitigation 

 

Team Development and Resource Planning 

  • Mentor staff, support onboarding, and build discipline growth, career development, and succession plans 
  • Align training, technical capabilities, workload, staffing, project assignments, and recruiting support 

 

Business Support 

  • Manage technical liaison relationships with subcontractor and flexible partner resources to expand architecture and building MEP capacity 
  • Provide technical input for proposals, client pursuits, and strategic initiatives 
  • Track industry trends, regulations, and emerging technologies; represent the company in relevant professional forums 

Qualifications

Required 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Architecture, or related technical discipline 
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license required; candidates pursuing PE may be considered 
  • Food & beverage or related industrial/manufacturing capital project experience, such as CPG, pharmaceutical, or pulp and paper 
  • Experience leading technical or multidisciplinary project teams 
  • Proficiency in engineering design, project delivery, and quality management 
  • Ability to travel approximately 25% for client site visits and internal meetings 
  • Located in, or willing to relocate to, greater Cincinnati, Ohio 

 

Preferred 

  • EPC or engineering-led design-build delivery experience 
  • Experience implementing digital engineering tools and workflows
